High Angle Rope Operations is a 40 hour course providing student with the basic skills and knowledge to perform as a supervised member of a rope rescue team.

High Angle Rope Operations is a newer certification for the Office of the State Fire marshal and is equivalent to the former Vertical II program.

Topics covered include:

  • System safety factors; appropriate equipment selection; inspection and maintenance; knots; mechanical advantage systems; raising and lowering techniques; repelling and ascending techniques; self rescue techniques; pick-off rescue techniques; patient packing; and litter tending techniques.

This is an OSFM certified class. At the completion of this OSFM certified class students will be eligible to challenge the state test.
